Writing Through the Pain: Turning a Painful Memory into Powerful Story

Everyone has experienced pain: be it physical, emotional, discriminatory, etc. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to this One Book, One College (OBOC) creative writing workshop designed to examine painful events in several stories and encourage participants to begin to write about their own. The 91快活林 is partnering with a company called Edquity to ;allow 91快活林 students to apply for emergency funding through one convenient online platform. Emergency funds can help you with childcare, food, housing, learning materials, transportation and other health/safety needs. To be eligible for these funds, you must submit an application through Edquity, and be actively enrolled in credit or noncredit courses. Students and employees can now get two FREE Covid-19 at-home rapid antigen testing kits per person each week; Theatre & Music students can pick up 3 kits per student, per week. To pick up your rapid antigen test kits, visit the ticket booth at the Music Recital Hall (view map) on Monday-Thursday from 8:45 a.m.-7 p.m. and Friday from 8:45 a.m.-3:30 p.m.; please show your student ID or employee ID. Thursday, March 31
The campus is closed for the Cesar Chavez Day holiday. Some campus offices and services will reopen on Friday, April 1; some offices may also be open during Spring Break (April 2-8). Saturday classes will resume on Saturday, April 9, and day and evening classes will resume and offices/services fully reopening on Monday, April 11.

Spring Break 2022 is held from April 2-8. In addition, there is Cesar Chavez holiday on Thursday, March 31 and a non-instruction day on Friday, April 1. Classes are not in session during Spring Break, but some campus offices and services are scheduled to be open. Please contact offices directly to learn their Spring Break hours of operation. Saturday classes resume on Saturday, April 9, and day and evening classes resumes on Monday, April 11. The college will resume its normal hours of operation on Monday, April 11.
